We went to eat Snow Ice at DessertStory today. Our first time trying. 

White Orange

I am not a fan of orange and somehow I forgot to eat my orange left on my office table. And today I found that it had large patch of white substances on its skin! Anyone know what's this white organism?

Around Sengkang

I went around Sengkang with my iPhone 4. 

I saw this beautiful rays of light!

Far East Square

I went for a walk after lunch around office. As I walked and walked, I found myself ended up at Far East Square. I used to go there years ago when my dear still go to the gym around there. Actually, I did dream of becoming a toy designer... coming up with the concepts, engineering and technologies behind toys. If I were to create toys, I wanted to create high quality toys with good built quality and priced at premium price. Today's toys contain too much plastic. 

New Office

Check out my new office! My new Lenovo X201 ultra-lightweight notebook... the screen is blank as no email yet. Every newbie is given a Welcome box which contains stationary, company jacket, polo T-shirt and notepad. :) The cubicle is nice and new and it's my first time using IP phone.

I found that there is quite a lot of prata stalls in Amoy Street hawker...

Been Eating Fish

For the past few days, I have been eating lots of fish like a cat! Even for breakfast, I cooked rice and steamed grouper.

I ate the entire fish, including the eyes. As my dear finds that it is fishy, I finish the entire fish. To me, it is not fishy, but the nice aroma of the sea! :)

Around My Office

I always think that photographers should have 2 principles:

1. All-weather. When bad weather arrives, I notice photographers usually will be disappointed and complain about wasted day. There is no such thing as bad weather. We must learn to shoot in any type of weather. Learn to overcome extremely difficult shooting conditions under limitations.

2. All-equipment. Trying bringing a compact camera to a group outing where everyone tends to bring their big lens and bodies! Also people tend to talk more about equipment than photography. 

Since now I can carry my iPhone 4 daily, I want to shoot daily with it, any where, any time. Not easy, but learnable and will be very fun! 

I had been using SLR for years. So used to its handling. Now, using iPhone as my main equipment, I feel like a baby learning photography again! Need to know its limitation, its capability, its flaw, handling, etc.

Water Droplets on Leaves in Sengkang

I was passing by some plants after rain and saw water droplets on the leaves and they looked beautiful. Took out my iPhone 4 and took a snap. :)

MacBook Pro for iPhone app development

I brought my 4 years old MacBook Pro to office for our company software developer to code iPhone app. Really excited about this project! :P

iPhone 4's night mode still need to be improved. It's noisy at high ISO. 

Sushi

Sushi is one of my favourite foods. Among other favourites like Indian curry, seafood, steamboat, Thai tomyam soup, beef steak, Hainanese chicken rice, otar, Korean BBQ and anything grilled.

We always see this cat in Sengkang, waiting for the elderly residents to feed it. His friend is another black cat.

Chin Chin chicken rice

We went to eat at Chin Chin for consecutive 3 weeks after Church! The chicken is really very nice. I love the asparagus and hainanese mixed vegetables too.

ClamXav scans my SSD storage

Scanning an SSD drive is really fast! 33GB read and 21GB scanned in 28 minutes. Think for hard disk, it will be at least 1.5-2 hours. As there is no known Mac virus in the wild (there is malware though), the virus definition is probably for other OSes.

Insects in my flat

From time to time, we'll be visited by insects such as spiders and beetles. 

Taichi Sabre (Broadsword)

After learning Taichi Quan (太极拳) 24-form for so long, we finally move on to Taichi Dao (太极刀). Learning Taichi at the Residents' Committee (RC) is really affordable at $46 for 3 months. 

Later I'm going to google to find out what's "中国龙泉". This sabre is actually quite heavy. Need good arm strength to hold it for long.

I learn Taichi purely for interest in martial arts.

SBS North-east line 8th anniversary

I received this ez-link card holder in the morning, distributed by train station staff, a gift to commuters as SBS Transit celebrates north-east line 8th anniversary.

Google Search by Image

My colleague told me about this Google Search by Image function. It searches by using the image you upload. I did a trial. I uploaded the 2 Angry Bird persons photo I took at CommunicAsia 2011. And the results are all Angry Birds! Cool!


This is extremely useful as often I wanted to know the name of some vegetables or animals. I can just snap a pic of the vegetable and search by image.
