Called home to be with the LORD

The Bible verse on the obituary of a brother-in-Christ was "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." from 2 Timothy 4:7.

No matter what we do in life, how much we accumulated, at the end of our life, "kept the faith" is all that matters.

One of my favourite verses is "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the formers things are passed away." from Revelation 21:4.

I'm looking forward to the day when I am called home to be with the LORD, where there is no more sorrow, crying, pain and there will be joy, peace and love for eternity. :)

I am not a paper cup...

Brought home this interesting cup. It is made to look like a paper cup from coffee outlet.

It even has a silicon sleeve to enable carrying hot drink.

adidas iPod T-shirt

This Adidas iPod T-shirt is cool! It has a slot to put an iPod nano.

It has a hole to let the earphone wire to go through and go underneath the T-shirt all the way to the shoulder area.
This is the big picture - the iPod bag, the holes and where it ends up.

MRT Poster

I am satisfied with the public transport except for 2 issues namely overcrowding of trains and buses and I find that frequency still too low for bus. If I miss a bus, I usually have to wait quite long for the next one. After a tired day at work, I really hope to have a seat or at least a less crowded train.

iOS 4.3 Orientation Lock is back!

After upgraded the previous iOS firmware, the side button/switch has become a mute button, which I dislike. I prefer it to be an orientation lock button.

This new iOS 4.3.1 firmware has brought it back! Even better still, users have a choice of orientation lock or mute. :)

Stir Fry Fish and Spinach

We stayed at home today to have a nice home-made lunch. I like the fragrance of ginger.

So much red spinach, almost overflowing.
It's amazing how it can be compressed into.

International School in Kovan

We saw an interesting building near Kovan MRT station. It is an international school. I think it should be nice studying in a traditional building.

The Latter-Day Saints church building in Sengkang seems to be ready soon. We saw its construction started on Dec 2009. The building looks beautiful.

Wang Wang Grilled Chicken

Today, we tried a new recipe! My dear learnt it from a TV programme. It is called Wang Wang grilled chicken. We bought Wang Wang rice crackers.

The rice crackers are crushed into tiny bits and spread over the chicken fillets. Grilled using oven for 15 minutes.

It tasted actually quite nice!

Kovan Hawker Centre

We ate at the Kovan hawker centre. My dear ate the popular  char siew noodles.
While I ate the long-queue fish soup. I think even the fish bones look beautiful.
I topped up the fish soup with fish roe, one of my favourites. This stall fish soup is definitely nice.

Fisher & Paykel Manual Dryer DE45F56A

Our old Fisher & Paykel dryer finally died after more than 6 years of labour.

We bought the same model from Parisilk. But this same model has a newer version with an improved switch.

Wonder if this new dryer will also last 6 years?

We bought the same brand and model because we find it durable, extremely easy to use with only 1 button and most importantly, we can use back the same mounting bracket (we just need to take down the old dryer and mount the new one, no additional drilling needed).

Can you spot the new design between the new one (above) and the old one (below)?
The only issue I am wondering if the same 6-year-old mounting bracket can hold the weight of this new dryer for another 6 years.

Fish Soup

We cooked fish soup together. Winter melon is one of the ingredients.

We pan fried the 2 fish. This type of fish is very cheap. They are less than 3 dollars.

Turn them around and continue pan frying...

This is the fish soup!

Nail Clippers from Pasar Malam

My dear bought this nail clipper from the pasar malam which has an interesting feature - the nail clippings will be stored inside the body of the clipper (the white portion).

For me, I bought the black one as I like the matte finishing. We bought some snacks from the pasar malam too and found that the food quality has dropped a lot. Last time, food in pasar malam tasted so much better!

Broaster Chicken at Nex

First time trying Broaster Chicken at Nex shopping mall. It tastes nice! The chicken is tender and the skin is nicely fried. I have whipped potato and coleslaw as side dish. I like the taste of whipped potato too.

Chin Lien Bible Seminary

It had been many years since I went back to Chin Lien Bible Seminary. I haven't been there after the renovation completed. So, today's photography assignment is a good opportunity to have a good look at the entire campus.

It is in here that I attended the Wednesday night classes and learnt a lot of biblically-sound teachings. I am joyful to see that the school is modern and big and has many large lecture halls, classrooms, library, hostel and a canteen. It is really a huge difference from the old building many years ago!

Good for the students who thirst for biblically correct teachings! :)

Flowers

Put some flowers into the Ikea glass vase on the table makes the whole dining area looks very nice.
