Quail Eggs

It just puzzled me that I love taking photos of eggs! Enjoyed myself very much :) Maybe, it's because I love simple things, those clean neat look. Eggs are elegantly designed and have nice clean cut.

More Powerful Flu Virus

Usually for flu and fever, I will get well within 1-2 days. But this time round, I only managed to start recovering on the end of 3rd day.

And I usually take annual leave rather than medical leave to rest at home as the doctor will end up giving me Panadol which I already have plenty.

I think today's flu virus is getting stronger and will be even more resistant to medicine in generation to come!

Thank God for the recovery mechanism in our body. :)

Arnold's Chicken Home Delivery

We ordered Arnold's Chicken home delivery some time ago after seeing an Arnold's delivery man near our flat.

The phone ordering officer told me that it will arrive within 1.5 hours but it arrives much earlier by 30 minutes. :)  I have forgotten that there is another branch in Hougang. So it probably has been sent from there.

Here's the half-chicken!

Juicy! But I find that the City Plaza branch one is more tender.

However, the buns are good as usual. I will definitely go back to the City Plaza branch someday.

I think crystal is very pretty. I am not superstitious about crystal's ability. But I think they are amazing creation of God. :)

Ukulele for Valentine's Day

See what I get for my wife for Valentine's Day :)

It looks like a guitar but it's not. It is a ukulele. It is so small and light, as if it is a toy. But it isn't. I went to Luther Music. They recommended me Guitar77 since they don't sell.

Braised Mushroom

That's what the dried mushrooms are turned into - braised mushroom. Very nice! I ate nearly 10 of them :)

Place one piece of mushroom on the centre of the rice looks nice!

Fish Ball Noodle

I need to pay additional $1 just for 3 more fish balls. I feel that food prices have gone up real fast.

Neck and Shoulder Pain

It started with neck pain when I turned my head. Later, I found the spot on my left shoulder blade as the source of the pain. When I pressed that spot, it triggered a pulse-like wave of pain to my neck. By regularly massaging on this spot on my back, my neck pain slowly relieved.

Though my neck was relieved, I discovered the worst was when I lied down to sleep. I couldn't even flip my body as the pain was excruciating.  Thank God this pain was only 1 night. I am 80% recovered and able to go to work.

Although I never take any of my body parts for granted, it still enhance the fact our body is so tightly integrated, when one small part is impaired, the entire body suffers.

Home-made Breakfast before going Church

Usually, we will go McDonald's for breakfast before going church. But today, we made our own breakfast. It was very filling as I was still full after service! I usually will start hunger pang before the service ends.

Throw Rubbish

I haven't been emptying my Trash Bin for many years! With 100,000 of rotting food, no wonder of many flies and ants. LOL!

Indian Poori

I bought Indian poori for breakfast today. This is one of the few stalls that is open. Usually most of the shops are closed during Chinese New Year here.

As I ordered the poori for home consumption, it is flattened. It usually looks like a balloon. Last time, when I worked in Science Park, I like to eat poori for breakfast.

This poori is a bit different from the Science Park canteen. It has some fillings inside. It tastes very nice! I will surely eat again.

Flowers

I bought 4 packets of flowers from supermarket as Chinese New Year decoration. Pretty cheap at $5, compared to florist. Of course, it will be even cheaper in Chinatown.

Chinese New Year Day 2 Visit

Day 2 to my parents' house where I grew up.

A blog is a good place to keep all the photos for memories. Looking through the photos, we can see how we have aged each year.

This corridor is where I used to play with my neighbours when I was in primary school.

Also to my aunties' and uncles' house. Didn't see them for so long, noticed they have aged significantly and the boys are so big! However, most of the furniture and home appliances are the same.

Breakfast

My dear cooked me 2 sunny side up eggs before we go for Chinese New Year visit to my parents.

Ants and Flies Problem Update

It has been more than 1 week since we deployed Combat. The ants and flies are gone! But we cannot confirm if it is due to the Combat gadget as we didn't notice any ants crawling into or around it.

Chinese New Year Day 1 Visit

The first day of CNY, we went to visit my parents-in-law.

My father-in-law preparing lunch for all of us. His cooking is good.

Wonder what soup will we be having later?

While we were waiting, we looked around to see what CNY goodies were there to eat.

We saw wasami and wasabi peas and we had never heard of wasami before.

The food was ready! So many nice dishes!

The fish was large and tasty.

Chinese New Year 2011

Happy Chinese New Year!

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year.

I got this Chinese 福 (pronounce as "fu") calligraphy character at my customer's office canteen. Each person can get 2 pieces free. I guess their company gets the calligraphy master's service to write Chinese New Year messages for their staff and visitors. Calligraphy is one of the things I wanted to do but no action.

Company Chinese New Year Lunch

Our company lunar new year lunch was at Ban Heng this year. Traditional Chinese restaurant setting with 10 persons a table.

MC started the programmes with games.

The first game was using angbao to make lantern.

This was our creation!

Judges having a hard time deciding which one is the winner. I was pretty impressed with some of creativity of other tables.
The next game was writing Chinese new year greetings using calligraphy. We practised a few times before writing on the actual red paper.

The chosen one finally started writing.

Does it look professional?

Looking at her mother having fun, the little girl also wanted to try calligraphy.

Some even wrote in hanyu pinying!

The first dish was the usual lo hei.

Next was shark fins soup.

And steamed grouper.
Fried prawns.

Scallops with broccoli. The rest of the dishes were not taken as the lights were switched off to play Microsoft Kinect dance games.
