Today's fish is milkfish! First time trying this cheaper fish (S$2.40). From what I read on the Internet, it is a less popular fish as it is bony. Base on supply-and-demand, there should be a reason for it being cheap.
This is the humble milkfish! The first thing I noticed was the layer of jelly around the eye. I thought it was only on one eye but it was on the other eye too.
On the outside the fish smelt and looked decent. However, on the inside, it was really very bony! The bones basically covered the entire fish, every single flesh was bony! Extremely difficult to eat as there were lots of bones and they were tiny. The flesh was not as nice as tilapia and grouper. Well, not recommended and I'll not be eating it again.
