Last day of 2010

End 2010 with some random food photos from the food court. Can you guess which food court is it? :P

I feel that more and more foods are cooked by foreign workers today and the original local flavour has been lost or reduced. I really crave for those delicious local food...

22 Things to Give Thanks to God for 2010

I looked through my blog and photos and I found that I have 22 things to give thanks to God for 2010. Try reflecting your 2010 and be grateful for what you have and you will be a happier person. :)

I have been on the receiving end in 2010, I think in 2011, I must start be on the giving side.

Below are my thankful list in no particular order:

I am thankful to God that I can worship in a biblically sound church.

I am blessed to have Weng Kong, a brother-in-Christ and colleague who is caring, loving and have strong grounding in the Bible. Seeing him often in office and he is a great encourager.

I have aged with more white hair. I am thankful that I am still alive today. It's really God's mercy and grace that I can still be alive today to enjoy His created world.

Bosses are one of the top reasons for people to leave their jobs. I am grateful to have caring and understanding bosses.

Grateful to have Charles as best friend and brother-in-Christ since 1992.

Grateful to have Cindy as my beloved wife who is understanding, good in what she is doing, and her presence and companionship is priceless.

Definitely thankful to God for provision of food and that I am still able to eat. I never take my health for granted as it is purely by grace that I am still keep healthy today.

I'm thankful to God for a peaceful and stable country to live in.

I'm thankful to God that I'm able to appreciate nature and it is really His grace that I can see beyond the material world the wonder of His creation.

I'm thankful to God that I am still able to have fellowship with the uni Christian group after we all graduated since 2000. (there are other members but I couldn't find our group photo.)

My dad who faithfully reads the Bible and attends church. :)

Eric, a good friend I knew while I was in the army. Really grateful able to keep in touch since 1997. I will always remember his father who carpooled me from home to camp daily.

Thankful for the wonderful home-cooked food my dear prepared!

Thankful to have a good job which salary I am already satisfied some years ago. I am living in contentment and not asking for more. The only complaint is unable to use iPhone here.

Ming Joo! My childhood friend since primary school.

Every heart beat I have is a miracle, every breath I take is a miracle. Life is a miracle. I am grateful to be able to wake up each day until today.

Of course, thank God for the provision of money, for Him to grant me the ability and health to work.
My mother, a woman who loves God and live in His reverence.

Pastor! I am really blessed to have known him and come to the church he is leading. He preaches biblically correct sermons, well-balanced, dare to point out sinful nature of Men, and his life exemplifed how a god-pleasing Christian should live.

My final destination. I really want to rest in peace, be with God forever...all because of His love and grace. Not a bit by human effort.

My neighbourhood is good. My house is really wonderful - affordable (according to today's price, it is not expensive) and not as crowded compared to other estates.

Lastly, the transport is not crowded yet, compared to EW and NS MRT lines. With Nex and Circle Lines, it is even better.

Nex shopping mall

We went to the Nex shopping mall besides Serangoon MRT station. It was just 10 minutes from our house by north east line MRT. Very big mall. It has many decent shops and eating places and a much-needed cinema for the north-east residents. Our new hang-out! :)

iPad iOS 4.2 Orientation Lock

I love my iPad iOS 3.2 orientation lock using the side button. I find it very useful and convenient. But after upgraded to iOS 4.2, the side button became mute key! Without orientation lock, it really affects my iPad usability. :(

However, today, I am happy that I found the missing orientation lock. It is hidden inside the multi-tasking menu. To access it, just swipe the multitasking menu until the leftmost. You will see the orientation lock on the bottom left (see picture).

Ya! Happy!

Tangs Vouchers

Thank God for the Tangs vouchers :)
I got my much-needed pair of shoes.

2011 Calendars

Got a few free 2011 calendars! hee :P

Sea Horse Memory Comfort Pillow

My Christmas present this year was Sea Horse Memory Comfort Pillow.

We found that our blog is very useful. My dear wanted to buy the same model as hers but we couldn't remember exactly which one is it. From our blog, we found which model we bought last time.

Also, from our last year post, we know that the price has increased a bit. This pillow costs $38.50 (after 50% discount) while it cost $32 last time (after 50% discount too).

Christmas Hat Hair Clip on MacBook

I got this Christmas hat hair clip at Orchard Road. It was sold for charity. I bought one for $5. So, what can I do with it after Christmas was over? I clip it on my MacBook Pro's screen. :)

Christmas Service

Our Christmas service today was held in DBS Auditorium. My in-laws and my friend joined us too.

We have presentation by the seniors and ...

... and the smaller kids...

... and the bigger kids.

 Infant baptism.

Pastor lying hand on the elder brother while the younger one looked on.

Then we had the youth affirming their commitment to Christ.

The youth ministry presenting Christmas hymns.

The moment to listen to the Word of God: sermon time.

Lastly, we had the adult baptism.

Everyone stood up for the closing hymns.

Christmas

We got these 2 wooden cups when we were having Holy Communion in Israel in 2006. So, you can see how much dust has rested on them. Dust rested also because they haven't been used actively. Remind me that I haven't been actively used by God.

Department Christmas Celebration 2010

Our department Christmas celebration this year was in Suntec City. We played Amazing Race type of game where we follow clues from one station to another.

We are taking self-portraiture but why are the people behind us smiling to the camera too?

These 5 talented persons form our team for the game!

Registration for the event + deposit our gifts for gift exchange later.

Derrick and I went into the same company on the same day 10 years ago but this was our first time taking photo together!

Their expression said it all about how difficult was the first clue!

The next clue was to go to this place. Can you guess where is it?

Got to form our company acronym using our bodies, even the directors were not spare.

The last clue was to solve this 2-star difficulty puzzle.

Our final destination was Brotzeit. Super long queue for the buffet food.

 Undercooked spagetti.

Chicken was quite good ... but I thought Christmas supposed to have turkey?

The ham was not as nice as the one my dear ordered.

Gift exchange time. Our team members showing off their gifts.

All looked so happy receiving their gifts!

 Our boss was smiling too.

 Guess what I got?

Cute little Australian Possum stuffed toy with its head and tail poked out!

The tail looks like a cleaning duster huh?
