Marina Bay Sands Construction

This lotus-like thing (top right) is the museum inside the integrated resort of Marina Bay Sands. Some how, nobody is interested to take photos of the construction site. I think the metallic frames of the lotus-like museum is beautiful leh.

Helix Bridge

I think viewing the buildings opposite from the metallic frames is interesting. I'm trying to re-create the interesting view I found in National Library that day

Louis and Joanna Wedding

I went to Louis' wedding at Bartley Christian Church today. All photos were shot using ISO3,200 without flash. Today was the last day of my Photoshop CS5 trial...just nice to edit Louis' photos :)

The march in started. The page boy passing by lots of compact and digital SLR cameras!

Here comes the bride with her father!

Couple saying vow surrounded by lots of photographers! I guess the official photographer will have a hard time getting clean shot...so I stayed in my seat, shooting in stealth mode. :P

Videographer and the language translator.

It was a touching moment when Louis started giving his speech of thanks.

The whole hall screamed with excitement when Louis lifted up his bride for the kiss!

Welcome the newly wed!

献堂感恩崇拜

We had our 献堂感恩崇拜 today!

DNA bridge

Obviously these are the DNA characters inside the chromosome in the double helix. These designs were also found inside the Helix Bridge which got inspiration from DNA.

Whenever I look at our human DNA design, I can only acknowledge the existence of a Creator as the DNA codes are obviously encoded by an intelligence!

Singapore Business District Skyline

It has been very long since I came to the Esplanade waterfront area to look at the Singapore skyline. The buildings on the left-hand side are the new Marina Bay Financial Centre. Let's zoom in...

I think this is great area to work in as can see the beautiful waterfront! Wonder when will the place be ready?

I remember I kept this fish before. I love its big big eyes. :)

The tiny bubbles made it look like snowing!

Anyone know what is this?

Poached Egg

My dear experimenting cooking poached egg!

I love this view. Looks like the egg is a girl wearing beautiful white dress with long train dancing!

It's ready!

Well cooked. The egg yolk is soft and runny while the egg white is tender.

It really tastes very very nice! Egg is one of my favourites. I want more!

Esplanade waterfront

In all the countries and places I visited, I think I like places with water the most! This is the Esplanade waterfront area. People are sitting down under the shade (that day was super hot) looking at the sea with skyline of the business districts and the casino.

G2000 Birthday Discount

As it is my dear's birthday, we went to G2000 to buy clothes. As G2000 has birthday discount of a good 50%, we bought lots of clothes in one go so that these clothes can last us many years. We bought S$400+ worth and got saving of S$216.50! Very good deal! And the receipt was very very long...

Tree of Life Christian Church, Singapore

Last week, I photo-shooted the Ordination Service of Pastor Andrew Tan of Tree of Life Christian Church held at Moriah BP.

Pastor Tan was the person in the leftmost. The guy in the middle is Lin Jie...it has been many many years since I last seen him! And got to know that he is working as a doctor in IMH, so near my house.

I posted the photo CD to them and I am glad to hear that they like the photos. I had a bit of concern as I don't have external flash and most things are shot in ISO3,200.

Hot Weather

Recently, the weather in Singapore is extremely hot, especially in the afternoon. It is not the usual hotness we had few years ago! No wonder guests were given small bottled water at Marina Bay Sands and I drunk down immediately!

Life is More than your Last Job or Salary

Christian small booklets free for all who are interested to read.

As I was looking at this photo, this "Life is more than your last job or salary" caught my eye.

Sometimes I wondered if going after my interest in job is really that important?

When I looked at people around me, those people working at food stalls, hairdressers, bus drivers. Do they really love their jobs? Is their jobs really their interest?

I guessed most of them do it to feed the mouth.

And I on the other hand, have a stable job, with good income, good environment, good colleagues and bosses, not too overloaded and good frill benefits.

But in terms of interest-wise, of course, not my dream job.

Since I have a stable job already, maybe I should be focusing on other things as now, I do not have the distraction of looking for new job.

I can focus on things that I like like iPhone programming, learning Hebrew, photography and enjoying life. Also giving parents a good retirement.

By diverting time & energy to look for a job that interests me, I might neglect other things or sacrifice time which I am able to do other more useful things. Also, this only edifies myself, satisfying my own self.

Hmmmm......................

Tombstone

Lovely greenish grass surrounding the tombstone with 2 pieces of dried leaves. And some grasses growing out of the centre of the tomb. The focus point is totally automatic selected by the camera.

Doing survey and get a $10 NTUC Fairprice voucher! Very good deal! :)

The Straits Times 3D Glasses

Few days ago (think it was last Wednesday 12 May 2010), lots of advertisements in The Straits Times were printed in 3D. I bought the newspaper not because I wanted to see them in 3D but because I wanted to read the Digital Life that comes with it.

I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a 3D glasses on that Wednesday paper. I can see those advertisements in 3D. Nice!

Wonder how well will the 3D TV takes off? Besides 3D, I hope to see future monitors all have multi-touch.

Clouds and Glassy Building

This photo would be nicer if I can remove the trees. Ya...saving money for Adobe Photoshop CS5 - for its content aware feature!

First Time Peeling Century Egg

I love century eggs but I haven't peeled one myself before. I bought some from Cold Storage few days ago.

Obviously, my kitchen table needs cleaning! ... The century is wrapped up in a plastic sheet. Actually, I was wondering do I need to cook it? I don't know if it is raw or cooked! How funny.

My dear helped me googled and we discovered it is cooked. We also found that it is not easy to peel.

The plastic sheet was removed and we can see the thick layer of clay, mud and rice husk. From the web, people reviewed that it was difficult to peel and the layer sticks very tightly to the egg shell.

I managed to peel it! It is not that difficult to peel for a first-timer. Maybe because I used too much force, causing the entire layer of clay and rice husk to disintegrate immediately...together with the egg shell!

Here's what it looks like without the egg shell and the mud layer.  The egg white is the dark brown transparent jelly while the egg yolk is dark green.

Yes, it tasted the same as the one I ate at hawker centre!
