We are having steamed pomfret in Teochew style.
Make a few slits on the pomfret.
Slice the shiitake mushrooms.
Slice the salted vegetable.
Place the sliced shiitake mushroom, ginger, salted vegetable under the pomfret.
Pour some light soya sauce and mirin.
Arrange all the ingredients including the sour plum and tomato on top of the pomfret.
The final state of the fish, ready to be steamed!
steam for 15 minutes over high heat. Water must be boiling when the plate is placed into the steamer. When the eyes of the fish have popped out, it is an indicator that it is cooked.
Ready to eat!
It really tastes good! We'll be steaming it again in the evening. :)
