Today, the swine flu situation seems very serious. And the first death outside Mexico in the USA today.

Wonder when will the virus get here?

Rev Timothy Tow Went Home to be with the Lord

I remembered reading Dr Jeffrey Khoo's "Charismatism Q&A" online when I was in university. This was one of the PDF files, which God had led me, that helped me know some of the unbiblical facts of the Charismatic Movement.

Rev Timothy Tow's "The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error" was also found on the same website. This was where I got to hear of Rev Timothy Tow.

When I saw his obituary on The Straits Times about 1 week ago, it was my first time seeing his photograph.

Though I haven't met both of them in real life, I'm really grateful for the PDF publications they wrote which played important role in leading me out of the Charismatic Movement. (There were many other persons who helped lead me out too, I will share those testimonies next time).

I believe you can easily google these 2 PDFs :)

National Library Book Exchange - Lots of new books to read!

Just came back from the National Library Book Exchange program near City Hall MRT station.

The exchange started at 1030am, and I reached on time. I expected long queue before it opened... but the queue was far longer than I expected. At least tens of thousand of people, snaking to at least 6 rows up to Middle Road side.

But "luckily", most Singaporeans dun read, so the number of people here wasn't as many as IT Show! I managed to get in within 20 minutes of queuing. The place was far far better than the super-crowded IT / PC Shows.

These are the books I exchanged. I am very satisfied...

...and if you notice, the books were actually quite new! (those books I gave for exchange was far yellowish, some even brown colour with smell, sorry! )

Good, even got gift for us after I exited from the exchange counter!

In the midst of recession, Apple still manage to get excellent quarter financial results! Well done! On the other hand, Microsoft sales fall for the first time in 23 years. LOL

Desktop Silhouette

Woke up and happened to see this nice silhouette of my desktop. Though I'm using a Mac, this is not a iMac. :P

Compassvale View Construction

All the cranes have been removed from Compassvale View construction site. Now paint jobs on the outside started.

In the left background is Compassvale Beacon which started already.

A Trip to the Zoo

Went to the zoo. Was a super hot day! We couldn't see some animals as they were probably hiding in shades.

After walking for a few hours, we were sweating like mad. Really hope can dip into a cold pool like this hippo. :P

Looking at the design of giraffe and zebra, it's impossible for me to believe in evolution. Amazing God's wonderful intelligent design and creation! :)

Giant bat!
So funny, eating upside down!

This giant frog reminded me of yummy frog legs. :P

2 lambs - one white, one brown. :P

X-ray App and iPod Touch Hang for First Time

Today I downloaded an iPod Touch app that do x-ray! See, it x-rayed my hand! As I moved the iPod Touch, the x-ray image panned to other part of the hand. LOL

Today is the first time my iPod Touch hanged when I ran this newly downloaded puffer fish game. Since it was the first time, I dunno how to reboot. As it doesn't have a removable battery, the only to hard reboot is to hold on to the keys.

After rebooted, I tried the game again. This game was fun - easy to play and creative.

By the way, my Mac notebook and desktop hasn't hanged once since 2005...wonder when will it ever hang? Of course, apps got crashed...but the OS so far stable, no hang. LOL

About Death and Dying

Recently there have been some articles on newspapers, TV prog and ads about death and dying. All these cause me to reall I created my own obituary page on 10 Nov 2007.

Today we sung this song (below) in Church. I really love this hymn. The lyric is very meaningful and true.

Whenever I saw people working very hard, finding ways to get rich, searching for cheapest deals, queue hours just to save money, being petty over small things etc... yet are so clueless about death and eternity...

... They may get a rude shock where they end up in -- even though they may have amassed a lot of money, successful in career...

This line touches me the most:
不计长短,在于生命的内容, 信靠耶稣,灵魂得救, 生命就有意义

At the end of the life, going to Heaven is all that matters.

A few times I cried when I saw people around me working so hard yet so clueless...

National Library Book Exchange Program

National Library is having this Book Exchange program.

We exchanged all the old books which we will not read today.

And got these book vouchers....

...which can be used to exchange for books in the National Library in Bugis on 25 April 2009.

This is definitely a good idea. Much better than the Earth Hour. :)

Rainy Day Again

Went to Parkway Parade to eat "Christian steamboat". Wanted to cycle at East Coast but it rained heavily with loud thunders. We called it Christian steamboat because it has a very significant cross hanging near the cashier wall.

How to use the iPhone SDK?

The iPhone SDK got lots of stuff. I'm still wondering where do I start?

It looks very interesting with so many tools. :)

First time downloading large file!

I have been using Internet since the Netscape 1.0 era but hasn't downloaded any large file before.

I am currently downloading iPhone SDK. It's a huge 1.75GB!

I let it run while I went to watch Shinjuku Incident at Plaza Sing. When I was back home, I found that the download had stopped as the computer went into sleep mode.

I thought Mac OS X would be smart enough to know that it shouldn't go into sleep as there was an active downloading going on.

Safari got a "resume download" which helped me continue from where I left off. :)
